Lakeville Friends of the Environment was started in 2007 by Harley, Diane, and Debbie; three staunch stewards of this planet who were determined to create a space in their community for likeminded people to connect and work together to build a better future. Throughout the years they have hosted countless events to clean our parks and rivers, provided education and resources for pollinator protection and reestablishment projects, and provided ways for Lakeville residents to give back to their community.
We are a community-based organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. With the help of our caring volunteers we have been able to provide nearly two decades of environmental education, remediation, and advocacy. Here at Friends, we believe that a better future is possible and it all begins here in our community.
Lakeville Friends of the Environment has hosted community bike rides to raise environmental awareness, cleaned pollution out of hundreds miles of local river and stream systems, provided community education on the importance of biodiversity, and facilitated classes and events that get our community members out and enjoying nature.
